16. Snow Days and School Calendar
Speaker(s):
Mr. Marcucio, Dr. Conway
Rationale:
Since the survey was conducted, we have had one additional snow day. The current last day of school is Thursday, June 25, 2026 Below is a summary of the survey results: 48% preferred subtracting days from the April vacation if additional days are needed. 26.9% preferred using the two available potential make-up days in June. 24.9% preferred adding days to the end of the school year. Combined, 51.8% of respondents selected options that utilize days in June before impacting April vacation. While the board may consider other options based on this feedback, the administration plans to recommend to the Board of Education the following sequence if additional make-up days are required: Use the one available potential make-up day in June. Friday June 26, 2026. If additional days are required after that, begin subtracting days from the beginning of April vacation, starting with Monday, April 6, which was the slightly preferred option among respondents if April vacation needed to be adjusted. This approach reflects the survey results while also preserving as much of April vacation as possible.
