We are gathered on the land of the Dakota and Ojibwe peoples. I ask you to join me in acknowledging the Dakota and Ojibwe community, their elders both past and present, as well as future generations. St. Louis Park Public Schools also acknowledges that it was founded upon exclusions and erasures of many Indigenous Peoples, including those on whose land this school district is located. This acknowledgment demonstrates a commitment to dismantling the ongoing legacies of colonial power and the district's desire to support the ongoing work of local Indigenous communities to thrive in our schools.
 

It is recommended that the School Board approve the Agenda for August 14, 2026, as presented.

The School District held a special election on August 11, 2026.  The school district conducted a special election in conjunction with the state primary but does not have a primary itself. Therefore, it must canvass on the third day after the election. This canvass is an inspection of the returns, a total of the votes cast in each precinct, and a declaration by resolution. The duties of the canvassing board are limited to those specified in Minn. Stat. 205A.03, subd. 4(a)(2). After the school board has satisfied itself as to the election results, it must prepare an Abstract and Return of Votes Cast and pass the necessary canvassing resolution. The School Board will be asked to canvass and approve the August 11, 2026 Election results.
