VIII.C. Safety Monitor Position update
Discussion:
Mrs. LaPlante stated we had 8 applicants. We considered one, but he pulled his app, so the position was reposted. Ms. Phelps stated they used a rating scale and point system. This applicant who had the highest points was offered job. The job is currently reposted and we received two new applicants. This position is for 164 student days. Waylon recommended we change the posting to say that, plus training days if needed.

VIII.D. Metal Detector Update
Discussion:
Waylon got a notification from a parent/board member that his kid is still getting his phone in school. Susan asked why the parents isn't taking away the phone? Waylon said a teacher was emailing parent about phone. Teachers need to hold teachers accountable too to take the phone away. Classified employees have their phones too. Waylon thinks if its not doing what its supposed ot then maybe take the loss and get rid of it. Dwayne thinks maybe he can stop and see whats goiongon. Mrs. LaPlante stated she thinks theres only been a couple of students who have gotten through, but phones in the school have drastically decreased.

VIII.F. Make Up Time Policy
Discussion:
There's a student policy but not an employee one. People missing work during the week and making it up in the evenings or weekends. Supt. Shepard stated he has given everyone the opportunity to come in, but this past week only 3 showed up. They have the opportunity to work but i's custodial work and some don't want to do it. Waylon said we should be losing employees and that what's going to happen. Unless anyone has questions, Waylon wants to keep going because he isn't getting the answers he is looking for.
Dewayne has questions, but not pertaining to make up policy or overtime policy. |

Remote - Waylon worried about not having protections outside of school, when people logging into systems, no question from other members.

Supt. Shepard has nothing further to report. No one else had anything, Waylon wants to go into Closed Session.

IX.B. EC Director, ELEM Principal & MS-HS Principal
Discussion:
Early Childhood report (was Tashina there?) handout was given.
MS/HS report from Mrs. LaPlante, MAP testing and we are finishing up make-ups. We will test again after Christmas break. WIT team is working on Attendance incentives using JOM funds ot help with attendance improvements.Tuesday is - Goulash with Grandparents. ELEM report from Ms. Phelps- MAP testing is finished, using the results for intervention groups. Teachers reusing Aptegy Rooms to connect parents with classrooms. Fourth grade is hosting literacy nights with the classes families. |
