3. Discussion Items

|
3.1. Facility Study JEO
Discussion:
JEO discussed the facility study progress, staff meeting notes and reviewed the schedule moving forward.

3.2. Legislative Update
Discussion:
Dr. Fields updated the board on legislative issues. LB 645- Retirement Bill, LB 303- School Finance Bill might stop because there is no money to fund the bill. The Budget Bill is going to be a slow process. LB 390- Library book requirement - we will need to change the handbook for the 26-27 school year. LB 89 Stand with Women - we will have to clearly mark bathrooms and locker rooms and announce where these are located. LB 428- Parent Involvement Act- we will need to notify parents 15 days before the survey. LB 653/AM 995- Special Education Option and Transportation has not been approved and is still in discussion.

Cardin Goracke and Avery Rodocker are the new co-presidents next year and presented the student board report.

4.3. Superintendent's Report
Discussion:
10/11 Pure Nebraska came and highlighted all of our buildings. Prom and Post Prom was a great success. Honors Night was May 12, 2025 and over $300,000 will be given this year in community scholarships. Graduation is Sunday, May 18, 2025. Dr. Fields updated the board on the Turf Project. We got the green light to move forward with the Middle School light poles. Dr. Fields discussed the Superintendent's Advisory Committee and the Memorial Health Care Meeting.
