Mr. Nick Brost's Principal's Report: Congratulations to our Students of the Month: Audi Johnson, Faith McHenry, Brooke Moorhous, Deacon Hayward, Ella Stanley, Aden Marquez. District FFA results Jan 28, in North Platte - Natural Resources Individual: Jared Scherbarth, Jayla Paulsen-Red; Welding: Tyler Armstrong- MIG-White; Floriculture: Audrey Moorhead, Heidi Maupin-Red. HS MAC Basketball: Girls MAC Champions, Boys 3rd Place; MAC Art Show Displays: Laila Marshall, Jayla Paulsen, Dustine Fox, Annlyn Wilson. Drake was HS MAC/PAC/WTC/SPVA Conference Champion. Thank you to Mrs. Spady for facilitating the Deuel County Spelling Bee. Congratulations to Anthony Nunez (Champion) and Christian Scherbarth (Runner-Up). Fifty-Four Honor Roll Students attended the Honor Roll Lunch at Front Street. Lions Club Health Screening for K-11 students was completed. Rachel Fischer presentation was held on Social Media Safety. HS Band attended MAC Music Clinic at WNCC. Congratulations to Audrey Moorhead. She placed 3rd at B4 District Wrestling and is the first SP girl to qualify for Girls State Wrestling. We will begin transitioning from rSchool to Bound this spring; full roll-out this summer/fall. March Calendar Dates Wednesday, March 18 — No School, District Speech/Teacher In-service; Wednesday, March 25 — Regular School Day.

Discussion:
Mr. David Spencer's Superintendent's Report: Thanks to the local Lions Club Mobile Screening on Jan 21. We are working on the 2026 Local Wellness Policy Triennial Assessment. Deuel County Spelling Bee was Jan 28. ESU 16 Social Skills Workshop was Feb 5 and 85 - 90 students attended at the ESU 16 in North Platte. Sing Around Nebraska was attended by our students. The formulation for the LB 1038 (School Finance) is changing, and we are watching the financial impact for the district. We have three students who will be singing the National Anthem at the State Bowling Tournament on Feb 10. The National Honor Society Induction is Feb 11. The Missoula Children's Theatre is Feb 16-20. We will take K-6 students to watch the show. Title I State review is Feb 25. The Parent Teacher Conferences will be Feb 26, with teacher in service and no school on Feb 27. Mr. Spencer shared the results of the 2026-2027 4-Day School Calendar Survey Results.
