I recommend increasing all Assistant Principal contracts to 12 months in order to help with summer school, summer planning, and preparation for the following school year.
This will increase the overall budget, but will increase administrative planning time to focus on academic improvement. |

For the last 8 years, SISD has participated in the TASB Fuel Pool. TASB facilitates the pool by grouping multiple school districts to negotiate a fixed rate for gasoline and diesel. The following fuel prices have been communicated by TASB:

9.G. 2024-25 Instructional Materials Allotment and TEKS Certification

Description:
In accordance with Texas Education Code (TEC)31.1011, local educational agencies are required to certify annually to the State Board of Education and the commissioner that students have access to instructional materials covering all Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for all required subjects, except physical education.
Additionally, LEAs are required to certify that they protect against access to obscene or harmful content in compliance with the requirements for certification under the Children's Internet Protection Act. The TEKS Certification 2024-25 Survey includes a section for LEAs to certify they meet this requirement. |

9.H. Consider and take action to approve a pay scale for non-certified teachers

Description:
As presented during the March regular meeting, administration is recommending a pay scale at state base for non-certified teachers. This pay scale would be only for teachers that have not obtained a SBEC certification after their first year of employment.
Current non-certified teaching staff would move to this pay scale next year. Employees entering the district will be placed on the certified scale for one year, then would be moved to the non-certified scale. Exemptions to this are CTE courses where a batchelor's degree is not required. |

12.A. Proposed Compensation Plan Information & Discussion

During the March meeting, information about proposed recruitment and retention efforts was presented. We would like to continue this discussion.

12.B. Grant Teaff Stadium Scoreboard and Lighting
Presenter:
Clay Cade
Description:
After meeting with video board vendors, installers, and engineers, it may be necessary to upgrade the existing stadium lighting to LED so that there is enough electrical capacity to operate a new scoreboard / video board.
The district's electrical engineers have been contacted, and we will begin evaluating the feasibility of the project. This project would have to come from fund balance, as it has not previously been accounted for. |
