Teacher of the Month: Ms. Anja Schaefer - FHS English Teacher
From Dr. Porterfield:
Ms. Schaefer has been an excellent supporter of everything we are trying to do on the campus. She tries diligently to make sure students know about things they need to do to be successful beyond her class. I can count on her to give me advice, edit my newsletters, and help us encourage growth and change in others. She is fantastic! I have also received unsolicited parents' emails about how thankful they are for her.

She is the best and helps everyone learn. She’s also always positive and brings a lot of joy to my day.

I'm incredibly grateful for Ms. Schaefer's advice and support. She makes time to listen to my concerns, and she gives me professional advice when appropriate--or she simply listens when that's all needed. I greatly appreciate her wisdom and experience. She's the best!

Is very professional and serious about her job. I believe she is the reason that students succeed and become inclined to writing and language arts.

No matter what she always has a smile on her face and is always superbly uplifting.

Espinosa Stone - Manual Salinas from Espinosa Stone generously donated $12,000.00 to FISD to support classroom libraries in dual language classrooms. They are our first Community Partner for the 2023-2024 School Year.

V. Public Comment

Description: The Board encourages comments about the district from members of the public. Anyone who has signed up to speak in advance of the meeting in accordance with the Board procedures may do so at this time. The Board asks that each participant's comments pertain to district business and be no longer than 5 minutes. For any member of the public who is accompanied by a translator, your time will be doubled as required by law. Remember that the Board may not discuss or act upon any issues that are not posted on our agenda. In addition, the Board has adopted policies to provide prompt and equitable resolution of complaints and concerns for employees, students or their parents, and the general public. Copies of our district policies and procedures on public comments and filing complaints are available on the district website.
