Description:
Announcement by the Board President whether a quorum is present and that notice of the meeting has been posted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code Chapter 551 as required by law.

II.A. Consideration and Possible Action to Approve a Resolution to Appoint the Business Manager as the Designated Officer Responsible for Calculating and Reporting the No-New-Revenue Tax Rate and the Voter-Approval Tax Rate as Determined by State Law

Description:
Districts are required to designate a school officer to be responsible for calculating and reporting the no-new-revenue tax rate and the voter-approval tax rate as determined by state law. This designation is a new requirement. The process to calculate, propose and adopt tax rates has not changed.

II.B. Consideration and Possible Action to Set the Proposed Tax Rate for the 2024-2025 School Year and Set the Date for a Public Hearing Regarding the Budget and Tax Rate

Description:
The District recommends a Public Hearing to discuss the proposed budget and tax rate be held at 6:30 pm in the Florence High School Library prior to the regular board meeting at 7:00 pm the same night. Further, the district recommends setting the proposed Maintenance and Operation (M & O) Tax Rate of 0.7552 and the Interest and Sinking (I & S) Tax Rate of 0.3490.

II.D. Consideration and Possible Action to Approve a Resolution to Recognize the Extracurricular Status of the Burnet County Texas 4-H Organization and the Adjunct Faculty Agreement with the Burnet County Extension Staff

Description:
Each year, the board approves the attached resolution and Adjunct Faculty Agreement with the Burnet County Extension Office so that Florence ISD students participating in off-campus activities can receive state funding as the students are considered "in attendance" as long as one of the Burnet County Extension Agents is directing the activities and participation of students at the event.

Description:
