Public Content:  The board of education has developed a practice of inviting students and their parents to the board meeting to recognize them for placing in state competitions.

FBLA experienced significant success at the recent state tournament in Topeka, Kansas. A total of 13 students placed 1st through 8th across a variety of events, earning National Qualifier status.

Public Content:  The Board of Education wishes to be responsive to the community and welcomes patrons at all meetings.  Requests to speak may be made when the board president asks if any visitors have items to bring to the attention of the board. Speakers are asked to limit their remarks to five (5) minutes or less and groups with the same special interest may be asked to appoint a spokesperson.

A note of appreciation was received from BHS Paraprofessional Paul Rust for the coffee, tea, and lemonade provided to staff for Teacher Appreciation Week.

Public Content:  This report completes the examination of Results Policy 2 for the 2025-2026 year.  The policy (with indicators) states:

Students will meet or exceed established standards in other curricular areas aligned with their individual talents, interests, and abilities, including but not limited to:

Roger "Kent" Hoyt currently holds Position 4 on the Recreation Commission. His term is set to expire on June 30, 2026, and he has expressed a desire to continue serving on the Commission.

Per the operating procedures of the Recreation Commission, the USD 244 Board of Education is responsible for appointing Positions 1 through 4 of the Commission. Therefore, the Board is asked to approve the appointment of Roger "Kent" Hoyt to Position 4.
