The school board meeting is a meeting in the public, not a public meeting. Nicollet School Board Policy provides that persons who wish to have a subject discussed at a public school board meeting are encouraged to notify the superintendent’s office in advance of the school board meeting. The school board chair will recognize one speaker at a time and will rule out of order other speakers who are not recognized, violations of data privacy, or inappropriate comments.

6.c.i. Superintendent is recommending continuing the practice of non renewing all probationary teachers in a budget deficit year. This allows flexibility when looking at student enrollment, program planning, and budget availability to provide the optimum learning environment for our students while managing the budget deficit. Teachers will be formally non renewed at the May 14 Board meeting and receive individual letters of non renewal. We have until June 30, 2025 to renew teachers for the 2025-2026 school year as programming allows without a disruption in their continued contract.
