1) The Public Hearing to present the 2024– 2025 Proposed Budget and 2024 Proposed Tax Rate will begin at 6:00 pm in the Board Room at the Lovenberg Administration Building, 3904 Avenue T, Galveston, TX.
Members of the public may comment or ask questions about the budget. This hearing is legally mandated by the Texas Education Code and serves as the final opportunity for public review of the proposed budget. The public notice was published in the local newspaper as required by law. A Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of Galveston Independent School District will be held Wednesday, August 28, 2024, immediately following the Public Hearing. |

8)C) Discuss and consider adoption of an order authorizing the defeasance and redemption of certain outstanding bonds; approving and authorizing the execution of an escrow agreement; authorizing the engagement of a verification agent; and containing other provisions relating thereto.

Should any final action, final decision, or final vote be required in the opinion of the School Board with regard to any matter considered in such closed meeting then the final action, final decision, or final vote shall be either: A) in the open meeting covered by the Notice upon the reconvening of the public meeting; or B) at a subsequent public meeting of the School Board upon notice thereof; as the School Board shall determine. |
9)A) Consultation with Attorney (Tex. Govt. Code Section 551.071) - Consultation with attorney regarding pending or contemplated litigation, settlement offers, or matters in which the duty of the attorney to the school district under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with the state’s open meetings laws.

9)B) Personnel Matters (Tex. Govt. Code Section 551.074) – Discuss the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, dismissal or resignation of an employee or employees, including the Superintendent.
