Mr. Eddie Pruett presented the State Testing Results: ACT / SAT / TCAP Scores.
ELA 3-8 - 49.7%, 14th in the state
Math 3-8 - 59.4%, 12th in the state
Science 3-8 - 62.2%, 11th in the state Social Studies 6-8 - 69.9%, 11th in the state English I - 50.5%, 13th in the state English II - 70.3%, 10th in the state Algebra I - 40.2%, 15th in the state Algebra II - 56.5%, 12th in the state Biology - 56.3%, 24th in the state US History - 61.8%, 5th in the state TVAAS, levels 1-5, with 5 being the best The district has been a level 5 district for 10 out of the last 12 years. Mr. Rory Hinson presented the health insurance plan, outlining the current contributions from GCSSD, which are 80% for employee-only tiers and 61% for all other tiers. He compared monthly premium options, highlighting scenarios with no changes versus those with a 1% or 2% increase in contributions.
Mr. Eddie Pruett mentioned that he conducted a survey of neighboring districts regarding their approaches to handling the increase. - Covering all increases: 7 districts (58%) - Splitting the increase with employees: 3 districts (25%) - Passing the increase entirely to employees: 2 districts (17%) |
