Report on American Civics test given to 7th grade and 12th grade students.
Discussion:
Mr. Wes Prater and Mr. Dustin Wickizer reported on the civics naturalization test. Mr. Prater tests 7th graders in the fall and spring, giving them 20 questions from the naturalization test. He is considering changing when he tests students, waiting until 8th grade, as the test contains a large number of American History questions. This change would allow more time for learning before the test is given. Mr. Wickizer tests seniors in the spring. Overall the class did well, scoring an average of 90%. He stated that 60% is considered a passing grade. Mr. Wickizer also discusses voter registration, how jury's work and selective service with the seniors.
