5.a. Superintendent's Report

Description:

The fall staff in-service week schedule has been completed and distributed to staff members.
I met with Cliff Carmody (SWWC Coop Director), Mary Palmer (Senior Director of Special Services), and Julie Menage (Special Education Director). We discussed the roles and responsibilities of the SWWC positions and the CM Principals. We also debriefed some situations that had occurred last year. All parties have a mutual understanding of expectations and accountability going forward.
Superintendent search consultants from the South-Central Service Cooperative (Jeff Bertrang and Harold Remme) will be at the September 18 school board meeting. This will be an opportunity to discuss the search process and timeline.
The teachers agreed to an MOU adding an Assistant FFA Advisor position to their contract. The position is placed on Level 11 with the current pay of $1,140. The growth of our FFA program warrants the additional advisor.

7. Accept Snow Removal Bids

Description:

Two snow removal bids were received.
1. Franklin: Steve Grejtak. Same rates as last year
2. Morgan: Kerkhoff Bros. Increased from $3 per minute/$180 per hour to $4 per minute/$240 per hour.

8. Approve 2024-25 Student Handbooks

Description:

The student handbooks have been updated for the new school year. The superintendent recommends that the school board approve the student handbooks.

9. Continuation of closed meeting pursuant to Minn. Stat. 13D.05 Subd. 2 (b) (Consideration of complaints or charges against an employee).
