Discussion:
The Board of Education of Hermantown Independent School District No. 700 met in regular session on November 10, 2025. Chair, David Hokanson, called the meeting to order at 6:00 P.M.

VII.A. Elementary, Middle, High School, and Community Education Reports
Discussion:
Muenich. Recognized High School teacher Joe Copas and the Hermantown junior high football team for creating a special experience for an opposing football team. Also congratulated the cross country team and Head Coach Andy Wilcox on its accomplishments this season and its performance at the State Tournament.
Weitman. The Middle School Mathlete team placed first at its most recent tournament and has held first place throughout the season. Appelwick. Elementary School wrapped up the Booster fundraiser with a total of $37,600, which was just short of the goal, yet still successful. We had our ribbon cutting for the new playground. Thanks again to the Board, PTO and our various volunteers for their support. Whitwam. National Educational Support Professionals Day is on Nov. 19, so want to recognize our hard-working staff. |

Discussion:
MSBA Leadership Conference is Jan. 15-16 at the Minneapolis Convention Center. Have four rooms reserved. Please let Wayne know if you would like to attend.

X.D. Arena
Discussion:
Lockers for the varsity locker rooms are scheduled to be delivered on Wednesday from Epicurean and will arrive in about three loads. It will be a community effort to get them inside the arena and they will be installed professionally.
Whitwam completed a four-hour walk-through of the arena, which was very detailed, in anticipation of ownership being handed over to the school district. Kenny Kolquist and Steve Ruud came very prepared and had already been writing items down for two weeks ahead of the meeting. There is still quite a bit of work left to be completed on the inside, with the target date of Dec. 19 for first practice and/or game. |
