Discussion:
Superintendent Armstrong shared information about State Question 844, which will be on the Aug 25, 2026 ballot. Information given was from the OK State School Board Association. Thanks were given to Nabholz and Reed Architecture and Interiors for sponsoring this year's SPS Staff shirt—Celebrating Route 66. New Teachers and Returning Teachers will be back next week. School starts on August 20, 2026.

Bond Projects Updates
Discussion:
Workzone #6 has gone out. Parking is very limited. Staff are encouraged to carpool. Parents/students are encouraged to carpool, use the student drop-off, or ride the bus. Mr. Armstrong went over the GMP Amendment that will be voted on later in the action portion of the agenda. A video was shown to see all the progress that has occurred at the HS Campus in the last year. Areas A, B, and C continue to look more and more like a school with almost everything closed in. Ag Building is going up. EndZone Building on track to be completed by mid-Sept in time for Homecoming.

Discussion:
Transfers Executive Minutes: These minutes are handwritten and will remain in the sealed envelope, as they contain confidential educational records and students' transfer requests, and disclosure of any additional information could violate FERPA. Only Board Members Steve McCormick, Johnny Merrell, Sarah Havenstrite, and Larry Hoover were present during this Executive Session.
Personnel/Superintendent Contract: The Board of Education went into Executive Session at 1:16 pm to discuss Personnel as listed and to conduct an ongoing evaluation of the Superintendent, as authorized by 25 O.S. Section 307(B)(1) of the Oklahoma Open Meeting Act. During the Executive Session, the Board discussed these items and no other items. The Board returned to Open Session at 1:57 pm. Present in Executive Session were Steve McCormick, Johnny Merrell, Sarah Havenstrite, Larry Hoover, and Rob Armstrong. Mr. Armstrong exited Executive Session at 1:24 pm and re-entered at 1:33 pm. No action was taken. This constitutes the minutes of the Executive Session. |
