October 11, 2018 at 8:00 AM - Special Meeting of The Board of Education Independent School District Number 33, Creek County

Discussion:  President Melinda Ryan called the meeting to order at 8:03 am.

Discussion:  Superintendent Rob Armstrong started the meeting with a slide presentation of the District Overview which showed success at each site but also some areas that need improvement.

Next, Director of Curriculum Donia Doudican, introduced her wonderful team that is always available to each site and ready with resources to help them be successful. She also shared information about the changes to State Standards. What once was taught in 7th Grade is now being expected to be taught in 4th Grade. Of course, this is a transition for all Grades 7th and down as each are dependent on the other for the next years growth. Along with transition and changed comes push back but our great District is working together to push through to create solutions to get our teachers and students to where we need to be to get the desired growth needed. 

Mrs. Doudican then set up the format for each site as they would take the floor. The principals put all their data in a presentation to show their last years test scores, their strengths, their weakness, and an improvement plan to increase test scores for the next school year. Stephanie Kiesau, Middle School Principal, was first to start of the sites, followed by other secondary sites. There was a question and answer session for Board Members in between each site presentation. A working lunch started Elemenatry Site Presentations, kicked off by Freedom.
