5. Principal & Athletic Director Reports
Discussion:
Mrs. Harrison presented the Elementary Report for August, highlighting the school's continued growth in OSTP Percentages over recent years. The elementary team is energized and actively preparing classrooms for the 2026-2027 school year, with teachers eager to welcome students back. Miss Miller shared exciting FFA Happenings for August. Ninnekah FFA has earned the highest state-level award a chapter can receive—a tremendous achievement that will be recognized with a Superior rating certificate at the SW COLT Conference in September. The month was filled with meaningful events, beginning with an August 11th staff breakfast and culminating with the Grady County Free Fair (August 24-29). FFA officers have already demonstrated impressive dedication, completing two officers meetings, organizing the classroom, supporting the Ninnekah Ag Booster Summer Jackpot, attending Alumni Leadership Camp, and advancing individual projects. With numerous activities planned through December, this promises to be an outstanding year. Mrs. Oliver reported on Middle School progress for August. The school has seen an increase in Monthly Enrollment Averages. Working collaboratively with teachers, Mrs. Oliver has established a plan to administer summative assessments during the first three weeks of school and again at semester's end. These assessments will help students build confidence and familiarity with the format they'll encounter during State Testing. Miss Cramer provided the High School report for August. While enrollment is slightly down, the school is moving forward positively. Concurrent enrollment is growing, with Juniors and Seniors planning to take concurrent courses this year. Staff are engaged in preparation and professional development activities as the school gears up for an exciting 2026-2027 school year. |

Discussion:
Mrs. Jones delivered the Superintendent's monthly report for August, highlighting key initiatives and updates for the School Board. She reviewed important Board member priorities and shared exciting news about the Ignite celebration in Chickasha, which successfully launched the new school year with our Middle School staff. The discussion included updates on COSA Federal Programs, and Mrs. Jones has enrolled in the Federal Programs Bootcamps to enhance our capabilities. The OSSBA Financial Audit is scheduled for October 27, 2026, on-site. Additionally, Mrs. Jones is coordinating with the County Commissioner regarding chip sealing for our campus parking lots and has arranged for cooled water to be available for students boarding the school bus after school during the hot weather. As we embark on this year, our motto reminds us all: Journey to Excellence! |
