Mrs. Jones delivered an informative report on the new COPS grant, highlighting its positive impact on our school's security. The grant has enabled the installation of new cameras in various locations and every classroom throughout the district. Staff Professional Days have achieved full attendance, and every staff member successfully completed the VECTOR Training. Collaborations with state offices are underway to discuss the 180 school days and address the teacher shortage, including considerations for allowing retired teachers to return to the classroom without penalties. 8. Public Comment
Ninnekah Public Schools Policy AF Adopted August 18th, 2022 Public Participation at Board Meetings: The purpose of a Board meeting is for the Board to conduct the district's business and deliberate and act upon matters before the Board, unless the Board is specifically conducting a public hearing on a matter. The public is encouraged to attend and to observe meetings of the Board and to participate whenever a public hearing is being held. Members of the public shall not be recognized while the Board is conducting its official business. Public participation time will be available at all regular meetings. Persons may complete the required form and request to address the Board during the Public Comment section of the agenda, so long as such request is made more than twenty-four hours prior to the posting of the agenda. If the request to address the Board is approved, each person or group addressing the Board shall be allowed three (3) minutes to address the Board on matters/items which are listed on the agenda. Groups consisting of three (3) or more persons shall designate a spokesperson who shall speak for and represent the group. The Board President will recognize speakers, maintain proper order, and comply with time limits. Persons addressing the board shall not be permitted to engage in defamatory conduct and shall not engage in disruptive behavior. The Board will not tolerate personal attacks on members of the Board, the administrative staff, or any employee.
