Discussion:

Construction Update: The weather has helped move projects forward. Rich and Josh have been working with OAK on a ventilation system. The high school/gym opening is waiting on 4 panes of glass but has already passed inspection. The high school would like to hold off on officially opening the front office until the glass is in. The gym is starting to take shape. Hats off to the staff, especially the middle school staff, for pushing through the construction fatigue.
Universal Preschool Update: This initiative is a great opportunity for our families. This was supposed to be a couple of years out but it is now starting in the fall of 2024. Superintendent McKenna and Laurie McCann have been meeting with the ISD and Joann Miracle to make this happen for our district.
Sustaining/Maintaining Update: Held 4 community conversations last month and have moved forward with documents requested by our legal council before it is ready to be submitted to the Michigan Department of Education for final approval. There have been lots of individualized questions from incoming families and for Kindergarten students.
Superintendent McKenna also reported that March is a busy time for the district. Robotics, Sunrise Academy Entrepreneurial Classroom Award Winner, OPIE Award for Heidi Sleder and Joe Macaluso, Athletic Teams, High School Band, upcoming musical to highlight some areas. We should be very proud of our district, the future is bright!

BOARD OF EDUCATION CELEBRATING SUCCESSES

Discussion: Kribs - Just finished coaching robotics and with 37 teams, overall, it was a very exciting time!
