Board to consider a Resolution calling for a Special Bond Election of the qualified electors of the District on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, to vote FOR or AGAINST the issuance of General Obligation Bonds in an amount NOT TO EXCEED $2,150,000, for the purpose of providing funds to pay the costs of constructing and equipping improvements to the District’s existing property and facilities, which may include, without limitation, installation of a new 8 lane track, improvements to bleachers and other components of the District’s track and field facilities, and related improvements, and providing for the necessary furnishings, equipment and apparatus for such facilities.

6.1. Superintendent
Discussion:
Mr. Hoesing discussed negotiations, awaiting EHA rates. If they do not come out by October 31st deadline, they will need to meet with the WEA collective bargaining team in order to keep with state statute. He also discussed the track and the steps we are working on toward the new track and field. He noted the house project and potential purchase of a lot southeast of the football field. He also discussed federal and other applications in progress and when they needed to be completed. He noted the NASB workshop and who is interested in attending.

6.2. Principal/Activities Director
Discussion:
Mr. Anderson discussed all the testing updates. HS completed their MAPS testing and had date updaed in IXL. ACT implemented a new program to help our Juniors and Seniors prepare for the ACT. It's a 5-week program that we will take a period a day and work through all the modules. He noted that Mrs. Becky Jones and Ms. Gragert put in a lot of hard work in helping develop the plan and entering date in IXL. Big thank you to them. He also noted Homecoming planning is complete and invite the public to come going in our HOCO celebration. He discussed WHIP and 5 Seniors are enrolled so far. Lastly he noted a big shout out to our kids. They are very busy and are working very hard. He also gave recognition to a few teachers passing certifications for NDE and also to Mr. Johnston and Mrs. Baue for being invited by ESU to present in their areas of teaching.
Ad Report Mr. Anderson noted the coop with HS football with Osmond is going well as long as JH football with Bloomfield. Teams are doing really well.HS Football is now 2-0. XC coop with Bloomfield is strong and they had a successful 1st meet. Volleyball team has had a strong start. JH athletics have kicked off and we are excited to compete. Mrs. Heimes Principal report: The elementary has their book vending machine up and running and Donors Choose Donors sponsored $1200 in books. She also discussed the Knox County Fair board sponsors grades K-5 with reading and writ bands. She met with the MTSS team and they would like to provide incentives for grades PK-8. She also noted the organizations that are sponsoring our kids and goals for the number of books read. The in-school savings program and 23 5th and 6th grade students applied to be in the In-School Savings Program. They applied and interviewed in August and tellers will train in September. Mrs. Heimes attended the WSC career fair and met with 40+ future educators and gave out information on Wausa. Lastly she discussed educational field trips and professional development that took place. |
