5.1. Superintendent
Discussion:
Mr. Hoesing provided his superintendent report. He provided workshop and conference dates to the board. He also went over the schedule for the September 17th board meeting. Terry Nelson asked if the enrollment this year was up or down from last year. Mr. Hoesing said the middle/high school enrollment has stayed about the same. Mrs. Hennings said the elementary enrollment is down a little from last year.

5.2. Principal
Discussion:
Mrs. Hennings provided her principal report. She stated CHS provided school supplies and backpacks for our 4th grade students and the local churches donated school supplies. Elementary open house was a success. Parent Council will be purchasing a microphone for the elementary. Aimsweb and MAPS testing will be administered after Labor Day. Jr. High orientation had a good turn out. She also informed the Board about the Capturing Kids Hearts workshop. Brian Wakeley said in the near future he would like to know if attending staff members implemented the information they received and if they felt it was effective. Mr. Hoesing stated this is one of the best workshops he has ever been to.

5.3. Activities Director
Discussion:
The Activities Director report was provided to the Board by Mr. Conn. Volleyball Jamboree with Boyd County is tonight. Thursday the girls travel to Bloomfield.

6.1. Future Meetings August/September
Discussion:
The following Board meetings will occur Monday, September 17th, at 7:00 pm in the Superintendent's Office. Wausa Public Schools 76r 2018-19 Budget Hearing, followed by the 2018-19 Special Hearing to set Final Tax Requests. Immediately following both of those hearings, the Wausa School Board meeting will commence.

6.3. 2018-19 Budget Workshop
Discussion:
Discussion on 2018-19 Budget was held. Mr. Hoesing answered questions Board Members asked. Questions posed were long term projections of students, questions on wind farm operations and timelines, budget constraints, concerns about the state of the agricultural economy, potential changes in budget if the upcoming bond election passes, and future staffing issues.
