6:03PM meeting began.

I.1. Announcement by the Presiding Officer of Board whether a quorum is present and that the meeting had been duly called, and that notice of the meeting had been posted in the and manner required by law.

President Soto led prayer.

Report: Plainview Education Foundation - Amber Bass & Danny Salazar Leadership TASB- Sylvia De La Garza ACE Program - Shantell Terrell Recognition of Outstanding Achievement: Bulldog Award- Dr. Sanchez Montana Moore advanced to Finalist standing in the 2025 National Merit- Rachel Long Band- Jerry Hernandez (please see attached list) Girls Basketball- Coach Adrian Alfaro PHS Skills USA- Culinary & Criminal Justice - Larry Garcia Culinary
Discussion:
PEF- Emergency grant for an employee was granted. Still in decision what the gala or fundraiser is going to look like.
Vice President Sylvia Delagarza spoke about TASB in Austin. Discussed legislation and regards to current vouchers and how they were able to speak to representatives and be a voice for public education. Shantell Terrell- ACE Program presentation. Explanation of how ACE is a great impact for our school district. ACE provides thousands of students wscross the state with: Ineractice hands on learning disugesas as fun with school curriculum. They also have school clubs and programs for students to join. ACE is provided during JR High at 7AM-8:00AM and the again 4:00PM to 6:00PM. Students were able to show highlights on a PP with things they do and some of the things they have learned. ACE Program does team up with MTSS in the district to help students with their needs. ACE does offer an impact to students. Principals from campuses presented- Bulldog Award Winners: Heather Harris (Plainview High School Administrative Assistant) and Anabel Guitierrez (3rd Grade Dual Teacher at North Elementary). Dani Hernandez- introduction of certifications to students and recognition. -Band: Students who made it to state. - Girls Basketball: Bi district, area, and regional semi state qualifer. |

IV.1. 2024-2025 Student Handbook & Code of Conduct-Amendment.

Discussion:
Adding terminogoy in student recovery process.
Amy Carrasco- We want to be able to work with parents to get them to school. We want to be able to partner with parents. Amber Bass " who would be the person responsible for the call?? It would be the school/principal. They would reach out to parents and families. In the past we would send out a letter. Now we are trying to make a partnership to be able to get the student to school. They have already received letters but this would be the final call. |

IV.2. Application for approval for PHS NJROTC Department Travel to Glenwood Springs, Colorado.

This is a great experience for the students.
We are seeking consideration for the NJROTC to be able to attend Colorado. |

IV.3. Security Cameras/Data Drops at Eight (8) Campuses Contract Over $50,000 using SVPP Federal Grant.

Discussion:
Wayne Jennings- an additonal 56 cameras. Some locations where we had existing cameras we will put new ones and we will move the existing cameras to new locations.
Installation process will begin in June and completed by the end of the summer. |
