214 - Out of State Travel by School Board Members - Rgulates how Board Members can travel outside the state. No Change
410 - Family and Medical Leave Policy - Has the requirements of the FMLA, nother more. No Change
527 - Student Use and Parking of Motor Vehicles: Patrols, Inspections, and Searches. No Change
529 - Staff Notification of Violent Behavior by Students - Staff Notification of Violent Behavior by Students - Discussion on what "substantiated" means and who is doing the checking on whether it is substantiated or not.

First Reading Policies
419 - Tobacco-Free Environment - Adds vaping awareness and prevention instruction: updates definitions.  Discussion on is vaping without a tobacco product okay.  The policy does not allow vaping in the school of any type.  Discussion of the education that is being done for vaping and the difference between 6th through 8th grade vaping verses 9th through 12th.
516 - Student Medication - Adds provisions and procedures regarding storage and return of drugs or medication and regarding unclaimed or abandoned prescription drugs.  Discussion to update the complete document to be the same as the recommended document.  It was felt we need to add the form we use to the updated policy.
601 - School District Curriculum and Instruction Goals - Adds Language regarding dyslexia screening.  Discussion on where to start correcting dyslexia and continually screen for dyslexia.  Question on Benchmark and what are they? How are they similar or different to "Proficiency Scales?"
606 - Organization of Grade Levels - Describes documentation that may verify student's age for admission - Updating for complete document.  The document did not reflect the actual grade levels in Royalton and now is corrected along with the verification of a student's age for admission.

Looking at 902 Use of School District Facilities and Equipment - Discussion of what needs to change within the current policy to follow state statues and loss of revenue to Community Education by subsidizing out of school activities.  Decision to form a subcommittee with outside groups to find solutions.
