August 11, 2020 at 8:30 AM - Policy Meeting

First Reading:

• 206 - Public Participation in School Board Meetings. Minor changes changing the word citizens to persons per MSBA recommendation

• 533 - Wellness. Many changes to keep up with the current laws. I have attached this policy as well.

  Second Reading:

• 452 - Information Technology. David feels that this policy is excellent, with no changes needed.

• 501 - School Weapons. We made two minor changes at our last meeting.

• 531 - The Pledge of Allegiance. We have added, "All rooms used for instruction and public meetings will display the American Flag."

• 722 - Public Data Request. It has been recommended by State of MN to not have length of time help as part of the policy, since it is very fluent. We will post it in the policy section.
   

  Review:(need to approve by consensus vote)

• 502 - Search of Student Lockers, Desks, Personal Possessions, and Student’s Person. Standard, yearly review. It has been suggested we include parts to be included in the handbook so students understand what we can do by state statutes.

• 521 - Student Disability Non Discrimination. Standard, yearly review.
  
  Outdated: (need to approve by consensus vote)

• 750 is an obsolete policy that was replaced by 534 in August of 2017. We just need to remove the policy 750. Next month we will update policy 534.
