1. $300/Pupil and $424/Pupil
Description:
Yesterday at the SEE meeting in Cold Spring, Liz and I were told all but one school district in Minnesota accepts the $300/pupil and all but five additionally accept at least some of the $424/pupil. |
2. Gym Roof
Description:
On Wednesday afternoon I visited with Bart about the gym roof. First and foremost please know there is no concern about the roof collapsing, including when snow is on top. We will be receiving a certificate from the manufacturer of the steel joists saying such words. So the joists are okay as designed. American Structural Metals is the company who installed the steel joists. They used smaller than designed/intended metal wall bearing plates where each of the joists rests on the concrete walls. They need to make them larger so the weight is distributed more evenly at the points of contact with the side walls of the gym. Robbie Kasella told me the plates probably don't need to be enlarged as each of the joists rests on 6 inch block walls. Regardless of the plates sizes probably being okay American Structural Metals is going to enlarge them at their cost. |
3. School Visit of STEM Program
Description:
Please see attached a requested school visit of our STEM program. Royalton is a rare school district in the state to have PLTW engineering and bio-medicine. The administration and board have been working together on this for the past handful of years. Our STEM program is just one of many good things we started doing for Royalton students. Big school opportunities in a small school setting. |
4. Items Sold on K-Bid
Description:
Mary sent me the following message regarding the K-Bid items we recently sold: Hi Jon, here’s what Tony brought me. Some of these items went for way more than I would have ever expected. The check was $7,466.35 and they charged 15% commission which was deducted from these totals. I think they missed payment of the settlement statement for $456.42, but I’m following up on that. |
