Description:
As required by the Texas Education Code and the Texas Administrative Code, all seven members of the White Settlement Independent School District Board of Trustees have met or exceeded the required number of hours of continuing education for the 2019-2020 year, and the 2020-2021 year.

Description:
The monthly expenditures is presented for the Board of Trustee review in the Revenue and Expenditures Report and the Check Register in the Financial Update Section.

F.3. Consider Approval of General Fund Amended Budget
Description:
The proposed amended budget includes:
1. Adding lease payment for virtual academy 2. Adding furniture for virtual academy 3. Adding technology for virtual academy 4. Adding Capturing Kids Hearts Training Program for June 1st and 2nd. 5. Adding FCLC COVID stipend The General Fund Budget will be a deficit of $ 2,697,097 after this amendment is approved. The net change with this amendment is increasing the deficit by $ 225,200. |
F.4. Consider Approval of Audit Firm to Conduct the Annual Audit for 2020-2021
Description:
The District received an engagement letter from Pattillo, Brown & Hill, LLP for the financial audit year ending June 30, 2021. The firm is based in Waco, Texas. They have many years in school district auditing. The cost of the audit will not exceed $37,500. The District has been satisfied with their services.

F.5. Consider Approval of Instructional Materials Allotment and TEKS Certification for 2021-2022
Description:
Districts and open-enrollment charter schools are required to certify annually to the State Board of Education and the Commissioner that all instructional materials purchased or used by the District will assist in satisfying performance standards; will cover all elements of the essential knowledge and skills in required curriculum, other than physical education for each subject/grade level and will provide TEA with all enumerated information regarding instructional materials.

F.6. Consider Approval of Addition to Capturing Kids' Hearts Agreement
Description:
The addition to the current agreement includes:
1.Coaching Greatness - One, 2 - day training session for up to 50 participants - this tranining is scheduled for June 1st and June 2nd. The cost is $21,000 plus $1,500 for travel. 2. CKH Premium - A campus-specific subscription that provides comprehensive ongoing support to leaders and staff. The cost is $24,000. The total cost is $46,500. This amount is included in the proposed amended budget. |

G.1. Consider TEA Waiver Request for Campus Hybrid Instruction for Grades 9-12
Description:
This waiver request allowed for the hybrid blue/gray model utilized at BHS for the Fall Semester as well as the ability to initiate a testing calendar that will allow for students to have remote learning on EOC testing dates who are not testing.

G.2. Consider Approval of Lease Property for Virtual Academy
Description:
The proposed lease property for the Virtual Academy is located at 8224 White Settlement Road. The base rental rate is $14 per square foot for the first 12 months and $18 per square foot for the remaining 48 months. The agreement includes an option to purchase. The lease commencement date will be June 1, 2021. Detailed information and lease agreement will be presented at the school board meeting.
The proposed amended budget includes this item. |
