Discussion:  Mr. Reed presented to the board in regards to what ways Americanism is taught in our high school and junior high classrooms.  Mr. Reed discussed the recent Lincoln County government day in which students were able to go to the courthouse and participate in a mock trial.  Mr. Reed also stated that students were given a tour of the jail which created good conversation upon returning to class.  Mr. Reed said that his favorite project that they do is allowing students the autonomy to choose a prominent figure in American history and writing a report about them to present to their class.  Mr. Reed also gives the naturalization test to all students.
