Description:

Mrs. Sara Olson, Roseau Elementary Teacher has submitted resignation effective June 1st, 2020.
Mr. Dennis Strandlund has submitted resignation effective January 25th, 2019.
Mrs. Denielle Reed has submitted resignation from her paraprofessional position effective December 31st, 2019.

8.1.g. Roseau School District Names AAA Award Winners

Description:

The AAA award is a Minnesota State High School League recognition award
The purpose of the award is to recognize and honor High School Seniors who have excelled in the areas of Academics, Athletics and Fine Arts.
Students must have a minimum GPA of cumulative 3.0
Students will be honored at Region 8 banquet in Mahnomen on February 5th.

8.1.h. Roseau School District Names ExCEL Award Winners

Description:

The ExCEL award is a Minnesota State High School League recognition award that honors excellence in Education, Community and Leadership.
Students must:
ºBe a High School Junior
ºMaking satisfactory progress toward graduation
ºParticipate in MSHSL fine arts and/or athletic activities
ºHold a leadership position in school
ºWork voluntarily in their community
ºRoseau School District ExCEL Award winners for the 2019 - 2020 Academic year are:

8.1.i. Interest Based Collective Bargaining

Description:

Mr. Ernie Belton from the Bureau of Mediation Services facilitated the Interest Based Collective Bargaining sessions that occurred on November 20th, 21st as well as December 11th, 12th and 13th.
The Roseau Teacher Association and the Roseau School Board have reached a tentative agreement on the 2019 – 2020 and 2020 – 2021 Master Agreement.
Tentative agreement will be presented to Roseau Teachers Association by members of the Roseau Teacher Association Interest Based Collective Bargaining representatives.
Upon Settlement approval by Roseau Teachers Association, The Roseau School Board will meet to approve agreement.
Negotiations remain under the control of the Bureau of Mediation Services, as a result no details of agreement may be discussed publicly at this point.

8.1.j. Ehlers Public Finance

Description:

Greg Crowe from Ehlers has indicated an availability to meet with School Board on January 21st or January 22nd

8.1.k. Long Term Substitute Compensation Proposed Increase

Description:

Current language states "licensed teachers that agree to substitute at least twenty (20) consecutive contract days for an absent teacher shall be paid the daily rate of pay of the first step of the first lane of the current RTA salary schedule.
Propose amending Policy 422 to recognize years of experience in terms of compensation of long term substitute teacher if teaching in licensed area.
