Description:

Update on facilities and grounds

8.1.b. Roseau School District Enrollment Projection

8.1.c. Roseau School District Budget to Actual Expenditure Report

Description: The Budget to Actual document provides a financial report detailing actual budget as well as up to date expenditures on a monthly basis per fund balance as well as line item.

Budget consists of the following fund balances

8.1.d. Roseau School District Open House

Description:

Wednesday, August 28th 5:30 - 7:30
Opportunity to meet and greet staff
Technology device distribution will occur
Food Service Director, Transportation Director, PTO representatives as well as School Board Members will be available to visit with students and parents.

8.1.e. Roseau Miscellaneous Compensation

Description:

Roseau School District approves Miscellaneous Compensation Schedule annually

8.1.f. Roseau School District Staffing

Description:

High School Assistant Principal Johnson will utilize Leave of Absence for approximately 12 weeks during the school year (begginning mid November).
Recommendation is to seek individual to fulfill role of "Dean of Students".
Building Principal McGuire, Director of Special Education Mrs. Hirst and other committee members interviewed candidates for paraprofessional positions within the Roseau Elementary School for the 2019-2020 academic year.
Deborah Lane, Food Service Employee has submitted letter of resignation effective August 26th, 2019.

8.1.g. Robert Melvie Request

Description:

Mr. Melvie requested a meeting on August 1st. During meeting Mr. Melvie requested board consideration regarding the following items:
1. Keep house in current location...only give up a portion of his lot. Would move shed if necessary.
2. Extend the deadline beyond terms of existing purchase agreement
3. Seeking Roseau District assistance to secure another possible location for house to be moved to.

8.1.h. "Groschupf House"

Description:

Roseau School District is the owner of the home frequently referred to as the "Groschupf House".
School Board motion was unanimously passed during August 16th, 2018 board meeting to sell home to Mr. David Ulvin in the amount of $5,000.00 .
The School Board approved District Administration to take steps necessary to schedule the removal of the building from existing site during August 2018 School Board Meeting.
As of August 16th, 2019 the district has received no money whatsoever and no communication has occurred to indicate the house is currently scheduled for removal.
The district has recently received serious inquiries to purchase home.
Recommendation is to take steps necessary to once again seek bids for purchase of home in an attempt to finalize purchase.

8.1.i. Milk Bid

Description:

Two milk bids were received were received for the upcoming 2019-2020 academic year, Cass Clay and US Foods.
Food Service Director Drentlaw has reviewed bids and is recommending US Foods based on submitted milk prices.

8.1.j. Roseau Community School Hall of Fame

Description:

August 29th, 2019
5:30 p.m. Roseau School Theater
Mr. Robert Foley Sr. will be inducted into the Roseau Community School Hall of Fame

8.1.k. Minnesota P-Card

Description:

Requires no capital investment
No fees or minimum spend limits
Requires no minimum contract period — no cancellation fees
Offers control of features to set spending limits and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly activity per cardholder
Allows direct download of monthly activity to general ledger systems
Earns cash rebates on 12 months' total spend between September 1 and August 31 of each year
Rebates begin at $50,000 annually — every dollar spent qualifies for rebate
The P-Card is endorsed by the Minnesota School Board Association
