4.1. ESUCC/ESU Planning Process

ESUCC Redesign proposed dates are Feb 7-8, 2018 and April 3-5, 2018 with April 4, 2018 being the NDE/ESUCC Collaboration Day. Dr Susan Leddick would be available for observations and stakeholder input on April 4 at the cost of $3500 for the additional day. Dr. Susan Leddick discussed this possible redesign process earlier this summer with Rob Residori, BrightBytes, with an offer from Rob Residori to pay the $14,000 for the Redesign Process. I have been in contact wth Karen Haase, KSB Law, regarding a possible contract agreement with BrightBytes for this proposed business partnership. As a result of conversations with Rob Residori, he is also agreeable to a contract for this business partnership with common goals and expectations defined within the contract. During this discussion, he did indicate he does not wish to be involved in the redesign process. This would be defined within the agreement prior to any commitment to the process. Dave will confirm dates with Susan Leddick.

4.2. Multi-State ESA Conference

A meeting was scheduled with Brent Siegrist, Iowa State Executive Director, following the October ESUCC Meeting. The Iowa ESA Administrators are interested in a collaborative effort regarding a leadership conference with Nebraska and Iowa. An initial planning meeting has been scheduled for Monday, November 13 at Green Hills Area ESA Agency in Council Bluffs, IA. Attending include: Brent Siegrist, Lane Plagge (ESA Administrator), David Ludwig, Kraig Lofquist and Jeff West via zoom, and Tamara Williams (UNO). In previous discussions with Dr. Williams, UNO has a leadership conference scheduled but on a small scale. Committee is looking at possibly meeting the first week of April 2019.

4.3. KSB Trainings Fall 2017

Trainings were held on September 18th, October 5th, and November 9th. Trainings scheduled for second semester include Title IX (January 30, 2018, 9:00 am-12:00 pm) and Records (March 20, 2018, 9:00 am-12:00 pm).

Concern: Individual schools have attended via zoom even though the ESU has paid for the service. KSB shared that if individual schools attend, they are charged if their ESU does not participate. If an individual school attends from a school location and their ESU does participate, there is no charge for that school. |
