1. Opening the Meeting
Discussion:
President Lutkemeier called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. The meeting was advertised in the July 28th publication of the Blue Hill Leader. "The Open Meetings Act" poster was displayed in the meeting room.

Jacob Lovejoy and Eric Parr were guests in attendance. Jacob introduced himself as the new Title 1 teacher.

5.1. Superintendent
Discussion:
Mr. Bauer reported that Silver Lake's FFA group will be participating in the Nebraska FFA Foundation's program "Launch", which takes high school students and teachers through the entrepreneurial process and takes ideas and turns them into a sustainable business. The first meeting is set for August 31st. Mr. Bauer thanked board members for attending the Budget Workshop last Monday, August 8th. Psychological First Aid Training is set for October 4th, November 8th and December 6th. Fire and Rescue training will take place at both sites on August 28th from 5 - 8 pm.

5.2. Elementary Principal
Discussion:
Mr. Drake reported on completed events, which included Jump Start, Preschool Summer School, Preschool Orientation and the Staff In-Service. Upcoming events are August 12th - 1st day of school, August 17th - 1st day of preschool, August 31st - Farm Safety Day, September 9th - 1:30 Early Dismissal, September 12 - 23rd - NSCAS and MAP testing and September 16th - Grandparents Day. Mr. Drake also reported that the new freezer came on August 10th. Dale laid pavers in the front to clean up an area that was difficult to mow.

5.3. Secondary Principal
Discussion:
Mr. Arntt reported projected enrollment for grades 7th - 12th to be 105 students. Upcoming events: football, volleyball and cross-country practices are underway. Will have participation numbers at the September Board meeting. August 11th - Teacher Inservice Day - Suicide Training, Blood Borne Pathogens Training and Seizure Training; August 12th - First day of school and the FFA Back to School Bash; August 17th - TVC Coaches / Sponsors Meeting at Lochland; August 31st - FFA at Farm Safety Day; September 2nd - Football - Parent's Night and Homecoming; September 5th - Labor Day - No School; September 9th - 1:30 pm dismissal for 3:30 pm home football game; September 12 - 16 - NSCAS testing at the high school; April 14th - Prom

Lorie Berns interviewed for the position. She has 33 years of experience at Mary Lanning and 1 year working for Hastings Public School.

8.1. Possible Vehicle Purchase
Discussion:
The green mini needs some money put into it. I would like to get the okay to look at trading this in and purchasing a car that our combination teachers could utilize to drive between buildings.
