1. Call to Order and Announce Open Meetings Act Verification
Discussion:
The meeting was opened by President Steve Vyhnalek at 8:00 pm with 5 members present. Shelly Lehr was absent due to illness. President Vyhnalek confirmed the advance notice to the public of the meeting and agenda. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Discussion:
Visitors present are Matt Smith and DPS students: AyLynn Schwisow, Ariana Tellez and Jacob Hatfield.

7.1. Principal's Report
Discussion:
Mr. Wiese presented information on recent happenings at school. Jacob Cerny presented his Humorous Prose at State Speech on 3/15. The Principal Advisory Council met on 3/16. Quarter 3 Secondary Excellence Rally was held. All-State band was held with 3 students attending, CRC Honor Band and Vocal Clinic was held with 8 students participating. The District High School Quiz bowl was held 3/30. Junior and Seniors attended the Career Fair in York on 3/30. All Juniors took the ACT on 4/5.
On April 6th a "Hold" drill was held with the use of dogs as a deterrent. Track season is here. We have seen several personal best records. Baylor Behrens broke a 35-year record in the 300M hurdles. The Principal Advisory Council met on 3/16. The school play "The Murder Mystery at the Murder Mystery" was presented on April 8th and 9th. Mr. Wiese has completed the formal evaluations for the school year. State Journalism awards have been announced with 8 DPS students being honored. Boys and Girls State delegates have been announced. Jacob Cerny, Fernando Perez and Jayana Duchek will be attending. Upcoming events are: NSCAS testing will be conducted for grades 3-8 in the next two weeks; MAP Testing will be done in May; 7-12 registration and class schedules are being created; FBLA SLC is April 11-13; Easter Break April 15-18; Hope Crisis Center Dating Violence Presentations April 20; NETA Conference April 21-22; Prom & Post-Prom April 23; Athletic Banquet April 26; HS Spring Concert April 28; Elementary Spring Concert May 2; Honors Night May 3; Senior Trip May 4; and Graduation May 8. |

7.2. Superintendent's Report
Discussion:
Mr. Schrunk presented an update on the Legislative activities. Mr. Schrunk attended the NRCSA Conference held March 17th-18th in Kearney. The Rule 10 Safety Visit had to be rescheduled due to illness of the auditor. May 20 there will be a Staff Luncheon to recognize "Years of Service" for staff and celebrate the successes of the past year. Mr. Schrunk reviewed his quarterly report on vacation leave as per his contract.

Mr. Schrunk reviewed policies #4002-Drug Free Workplace, #4003-Drug Policy for Drivers, #4004-Employment of Relatives, #4005-Communication Between Board and Employees, #4006-Insurance, #4007-Personnel Records, #4008-Outside Employment, #4009-Restrictions on Gratuities, #4010-Inclement Weather, #4011-Family and Medical Leave Act and #4011.1-Nebraska Family Medical Leave Act. No changes were necessary at this time.

Discussion:
Discussion was held on the possibility of promoting Girls' Wrestling at Dorchester as a NSAA sanctioned sport.

9.2. Consider approving carpet replacement.
Discussion:
Mr. Schrunk reviewed past carpet replacements in the elementary wings and rooms. A moisture test was conducted by Midwest Flooring to determine the type of carpet to be used. After discussion, the motion was tabled. Mr. Schrunk will work with the Building Committee to look at our options.
