7.1. 2016-17 Long Term Maintenance Revenue (Deferred Maintenance)

Director of Finance Mike Burlager
Description:
At the January 25th Board Learning Session, preliminary information on the 2017 Long Term Maintenance projects were presented. Director of Finance Mike Burlager will present the recommended projects for Board approval.
Recommended Action Authorize administration to use Long Term Maintenance Revenue to improve and remodel the Carl Olson Auditorium at West Jr. High School and also repair roofs at West Jr. High School and other sites in the district.

9.1. Ford Next Generation Learning Letter of Commitment

School Board Chair Reggie Bowerman and Superintendent Rod Thompson
Description:
The Shakopee Board of Education is entering in to a collaborative, community-driven approach to achieve the following outcomes:
1. increased community prosperity shared by all; 2. a strengthened talent pipeline; 3. young people prepared for career, college, lifelong learning, and leadership; 4. educational equity and justice for all; and 5. the capacity to contribute and go further. Recommended Action Sign the Letter of Commitment and enter in to a partnership with Ford Next Generation Learning. As the Shakopee Board of Education, it is our desire and intent to create and share innovations that will support the entire Ford NGL network, and serve as a model for creativity and innovation.
