6.2. Boone Central Recognitions
Discussion:
Roberts - I appreciate the teachers who volunteered for the Negotiations Committee roles. Mr. Coakes, Mr. Korte and Mrs. Paulson have all done a great job stepping into that arena, it’s a tough thing to do. Frey - I would like to recognize the cross country coaches, Mrs. Roberts and Mrs. Petersen, I appreciate the effort they put in, they have done a great job. Also, I would like to thank the Niewohners for their beef donation. It is Niewohner beef for this month's beef in schools. Stuhr - Thank you to Abby Hitchler for all she does with FFA, the students are doing a great job. Fogleman - I would like to recognize the cheerleaders. Amy and Brittany do such a good job with the cheerleaders, they practice early in the mornings and do a lot of great stunts. They do a great job. Rolf - Brittany Dozler. Teaches English to the Juniors and Seniors. She is a teacher who the kids respect. She makes kids want to learn and do well in her classroom. Look - I would like to recognize Mrs. Blanchard for her work on Color Day, along with Mr. Perone and BC Club for all of their work on the Color Day after party. A big thanks to the venues (The Nest, Dotted Daisy, Los Cantaros food truck) sponsors, and several parent volunteers. Our students were outstanding and had a great time! Overall, it was a positive and safe experience for everyone. Larsen - I would like to recognize the Boone Central High School Teachers of the Quarter, HS History/English teacher Ms. Cassie Olson, and HS Social Studies teacher Mr. Dan Zoucha. These individuals were selected from over 36 nominations that included the representation of 14 different teachers. They are both very active in serving as coaches and sponsors in addition to their duties as high school teachers. You see them at school events. Like all our teachers, these two continue to model The Cardinal Way as recognized in their nominations. I have included an excerpt from the nominations for each: Mr. Zoucha: "You can tell he puts work into what he is teaching and makes sure everyone is learning something new every class period. He is always helping kids pass his class. He makes sure everyone is kind and respectful to everyone and he is responsible in many ways." Ms. Olson: "She is a great teacher and listens to students. She is always letting us have fun while learning; never not had fun and not learned something in one of her class periods. She always has a positive attitude and is constantly keeping us engaged in class while being fun and kind. She makes sure everyone is included, and makes sure everyone is happy. She always respects people through the highs and lows." Curry- I would like to recognize Mr. Ray & Mrs. Petersen. These two head coaches of a fall sport are pros when it comes to student rapport. They both have highly engaging classrooms. I appreciate how they challenge their students to think through in-class activities. All coaches have a lot of extra responsibilities during their season, but Mr. Ray & Mrs. Petersen continue to teach at a high level! Kayton- I would like to recognize Mrs. Gonzalez. This year, she started teaching 3rd and 4th grade Spanish classes. They meet twice a week for about 20 minutes during the day. Students are starting to learn basic vocabulary. They are also able to hold small conversations! Students look forward to this time each week! Perone- Doug Koch for his natural ability to announce, he represents us well. He is comfortable in the booth, professional and position. Chain gain, Tyler Rolf, Tyrell Friese, Weston Ray, Mike Webster and Jeff Eickhoff, do a great job and some have been doing it for a long time. They are dedicated and we appreciate the time they put in. Thank you to the Albion fire and rescue squad for all their help. |

7. Discussion of Action Agenda Items
Discussion:
Superintedent Evaluation - This is the first of two evaluations that will take place this year. Every year thereafter will take place once annually. NASB provides the evaluation tool. Mr. Look completed a self evaluation and the Board completed and discussed the evaluation. The evaluation consists of six core values. The executive summary reflects the board standards rated higher than Mr. Look's self evaluation. A good standing between Mr. Look and the Board is a result of the evaluation.
