6.1. Steven Ruzek - Cornerstone Bank Cardinal Savings Bank
Discussion:
Mr. Curry discussed the Cardinal Savings Bank program, a non-interest bearing savings account that Boone Central and Cornerstone will have a joint partnership in. Students K-6 will be given the opportunity to save money and get their money back when they graduate 6th grade, move away or choose to stop participating. Incentives for participation will be provided, including Cornerstone Bank matching the first $5 put into each student's savings account. This will provide students with a learning opportunity. The program will begin October 8th, and will take place on Wednesday mornings from 8:30-9:00 am. The Cornerstone bank tellers will teach the 6th grade students how to make deposits. Cornerstone will track all deposits.

6.3. Boone Central Recognitions
Discussion:
Knott - I’d like to give a shout-out to Mr Perone and all staff and volunteers involved in hosting activities and events. It’s an extremely busy time of year, and everything I’ve attended has been very professionally handled. Also, kudos on the new POS systems used at the concession stands. Lastly, it’s great to see such high attendance by admin and staff at events truly supporting our teams, organizations, and coaches/sponsors. Roberts- I would like to recognize Mr. Larsen for holding kids accountable with the cell phone policy. Stuhr- I want to shout out Doug Koch for stepping in and filling in for Kris Pestal. He is doing a really great job and I want to thank him for taking the game announcing over. Fogleman- I would like to thank our admin staff. As far as I know, it has been a smooth start to the school year, and a lot of that has to do with their leadership. Rolf-I would like to recognize our transportation staff and bus/activities drivers. They are on the roads with our kids early morning and sometimes late in the evening. Their dedication is appreciated. Larsen-I would like to recognize the team of teachers that have helped to cover PE classes while being down a teacher for this school year. Thank you to Mr. Albers, Mr. Majerus, Mr. Hudson, and Mr. Ray for helping to cover/offer PE and Strength & Conditioning classes for our students this school year. I appreciate them living out the TEAM mentality with regard to continuing to offer and provide opportunities for our students. An additional shout-out to Mr. Perone, as well as all the coaches who also embodied the same mentality over the summer and continue to do so to support our kiddos. Curry- I would like to recognize the leadership and vision of our Math & Language Arts intervention teachers. Mr. Thome & Mrs. Choat have demonstrated a vision and desire to provide math intervention to several of our students. They were able to problem-solve the logistics of scheduling. They are working with these students at a level that will help them be successful in Math for years to come. Mrs. Shannon Nelson oversees our Language Arts intervention time. She communicates with students and parents to help students improve their skills. It would be easy to point out why these types of support may not work, but they have figured out ways to make it work! Kayton- I would like to shout out Rod Stuhr. He has taken on a few more custodial duties this year. He tried out a new schedule to ensure he gets all of his duties done. He has smiled along the way while continuing to build relationships with the staff and students while continuing to clean up the messes! |

6.4. Continuous School Improvement
Discussion:
At our August meeting, we broke into committees to start collecting evidence for each goal to ensure we are prepared for our year 5 visit. Math Number Sense, Building Character, Creating Opportunities, Striving for Success. At our meeting on Wednesday, we plan on reevaluating The Cardinal Way visual that we currently have. At our beginning of the year staff meetings, everyone had the opportunity to provide feedback based on these three questions: What elements of The Cardinal Way should always remain consistent in our culture game plan? What elements of The Cardinal Way could be deleted/changed? What are some suggestions you have that could be added to/improvements to The Cardinal Way culture gameplan? |

7. Discussion of Action Agenda Items
Discussion:
9.4 Strategic Planning with ESU7, the followup and accountability piece is important and has been missing in the past. We will ask the ESU7 to followup mid-year via retreat in order to stay on track. ESU7 knows our district and our staff well. It will be beneficial to pay someone to do the planning for the District.
