2. PUBLIC INPUT, INFORMATIONAL ITEM
Description:
This time is set aside for the public to make comments on items within the authority of this Board & are not for board interaction at this time. Matters raised cannot be deliberated or acted upon until properly placed on a future agenda. A "request to speak" card must be completed & submitted to the Board President. A time limit of 3 minutes per person or 5 minutes for the spokesperson for a group may be imposed. Please provide 10 copies of any handouts.

4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF PAST MEETING, ACTION ITEM
Description:
Recommended Action: That the committee approves the March 1, 2011 minutes.

5. DISCUSSION/POSSIBLE DECISION REGARDING CHANGES TO EXISTING POLICIES & ADMINISTRATIVE REGULATIONS, ACTION ITEM
Description:
Changes to the existing policies are in bold.

5.A. 6750 - SCHOOL BOARD NEGOTIATING AGENTS
|

5.B. 6303 - ADMINISTRATORS IN THE CLASSROOM
Description:
The 2009 Legislative bill required central office administrators to spend one day in the classroom. The 2011 Legislative bill changed this to permissive (See SB 365). The committee needs to decide whether to delete this policy or to change the wording to make it permissive.

5.D. 6273 - PROFESSIONAL STAFF CERTIFICATION & CREDENTIALING REQUIREMENTS
Description:
Changes necessitated by AB 39 & AB 393 are in bold.

5.E. 1500R - COMMUNITY USE OF SCHOOL FACILITIES
Description:
Changes to the regulation necessitated by AB 227 are in bold on pages 2, 5 & 7 (form).

6. DISCUSSION/DECISON REGARDING NEW POLICIES/ADMINISTRATIVE REGULATIONS, ACTION ITEM

6.A. 6356 - DISCIPLINE, SUSPENSION & DISMISSAL OF PROFESSIONAL STAFF
Description:
There was previously no policy to accompany the regulation. Two additional reasons for discipline were added by the legislature through AB 229 & SB 276. AB 393 requires self reporting of arrests or convictions.

7. ASSIGNMENT OF FUTURE POLICY RESEARCH, ACTION ITEM
Description:
Committee members may direct research on policies & may set a date for a future committee meeting.
