Sevier Middle School 8th grade students Callie McCurry and Emma Worley will lead the Board of Education and audience in the Pledge of Allegience.

1.2. Review of Board of Education Responsibilities/Boardsmanship Standards

Description:
Newly elected Board President Dr. Brandon Fletcher and Board members will read aloud the Tennessee School Boards Association (TSBA) Boardsmanship Standards/Code of Ethics. Policy 1.1061 - Boardsmanship Standards incorporates the code into the Kingsport City Schools policy and specifies that this policy will be read aloud annually at the September Board meeting.

1.3. Additions to and/or Acceptance of the Agenda

Description:
Dr. Brandon Fletcher, Board President, will ask for a motion to accept the agenda, which includes the consent agenda. Once the agenda is accepted, the Board mutually agrees not to discuss any item of business or take any action that has not been accepted for the agenda.

2. RECOGNITIONS

2.1. Stephen and Michelle Baker, Dobyns-Bennett High School Unified Bowling Coaches

Description:
Mrs. Melissa Woods will recognize Stephen Baker, Coach of the Dobyns-Bennett High School Unified Bowling team, for being named the TSSAA Coach of the Year for Unified Bowling.
In the first two months of the new program in 2024, coaches Stephen Baker and his wife, Michelle, were able to put a team together and win the TSSAA Unified State Championship. Their commitment to this program went above and beyond, and they were very pleased with the final outcome. In the 15 months since implementing the D-B unified bowling program, coaches Stephen and Michelle Baker have taken the program to a state championship (2024) and a runner-up finish (2025). The team has been able to have success due to the great coaches, athletes and partners that have gone above and beyond representing the program. |

4.4. Ratify Board President and Superintendent Signatures on Interdepartmental Agreement between Kingsport City Schools and Kingsport Police Department for School Crossing Guards

Description:
The Memorandum of Understanding between Kingsport City Schools and Kingsport Police Department for school crossing guards has been signed and the signatures of the Board President and Superintendent need to be ratified. The MOU was approved by the Board of Mayor and Aldermen on April 1, 2025.

5.1. Approval to Award Bid for Washington Elementary School HVAC Replacement Project

Description:
Mr. David Frye, Chief Finance Officer, will present information from a recent bid opening for the Washington Elementary School HVAC Replacement project. Three bids were received, with the lowest compliant bid being from S.B. White Company, Inc. in the amount of $1,998,000.00. The total cost of the project will be $2,262,760.00, including architect/engineer fee ($119,880.00), 6% contingency ($119,880.00), and miscellaneous costs ($25,000.00). Funding will be from the Washington HVAC Replacement project GP2512.
