III. Governance structure review consideration

The Bylaws delegate review of the governance structure to the Governance Committee every three years. The last review took place in 2023 and the next review is scheduled for 2026. President Cronin received a request from the Hermiston School District to reconsider its caucus model approach and to explore more effective ways for special interest groups to participate in and to influence the OSBA. 
Action requested: Refer to Governance Committee

IV. Potential OSBA Board Coffee at Summer Board Conference

Background: the OSBA Board of Directors elects officers at the Sept. Board Retreat every year. In the past, that year's OSBA officers have hosted an informal "coffee" to provide an opportunity for Q&A to anyone on the Board who is interested in potentially serving as an OSBA officer in the upcoming year. Last year, there was a proposal that the 2025 Summer Board Conference might be a perfect place to hold a coffee, hot topic table, or any other applicable networking arena that the Executive Committee would like to propose, not only for OSBA BOD who are interested in serving as officers, but for the general membership who are interested in serving on the OSBA Board.
