III.
Public Input: The policy of the education district board is to encourage discussion by persons of subjects related to the management of the district at board meetings. The board shall, as a matter of policy, protect the legal rights to privacy and due process of employees and students. Persons who wish to have a subject discussed at a public board meeting must notify the executive director’s office in advance of the board meeting. The person should provide his or her name, address, the name of group represented (if any), and the subject to be covered or the issue to be addressed. The board retains the discretion to limit discussion of any agenda item to a reasonable period of time as determined by the board.

IV.D. Special Education Teacher Mentoring Plan

Description:
This plan has been developed for special education teachers on Tier 1 or 2 or an Out-of-Field Placement (OFP). Presentation of the plan is included in the packet. This does not replace the mentoring and onboarding in each district but is rather an extra scoop of support for special education staff.

IV.E. Opioid Grant Collaboration

Description:
Kris Johnson, Deputy Director of Goodhue County Health and Human Services (GCHHS) reached out to our districts about writing an opioid grant. If awarded, GCHHS would manage the grant. GCHHS is seeking support for this work from the districts through input, the formation of a student group and work on the opioid use impact on our students. The Superintendent's Council agreed.

VI.B. GCED Organizational Chart

Description:
Our Organizational Chart has been updated to reflect approved changes in staffing going into the 2023-24 school year. There are two charts attached. The final document is dependent on actions being considered by member districts. The information in the second chart includes the possible addition of a .5 special education coordinator position to serve 5RO, Tower View and Itinerant Staff.
