VIII.a.viii. Designation of Identified Officials with Authority (IOwA)
Description:
The Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) requires that school districts annually designate an Identified Official with Authority to comply with the MNIT Enterprise Identity and Access Management Standard which states that all user access rights to Minnesota state systems must be reviewed and recertified at least annually. The Identified Official with Authority will assign job duties and authorize external user's access to MDE secure systems for their local education agency (LEA).

Description:
The board must by law, designate an official publication for the printing of all required legal documents, such as minutes, bids and special notices of elections and meetings. It is recommended that the Pioneer Press be designated as the official publication for the 2021 calendar year.

VIII.b.i. Establish 2020 Board Member Compensation/Benefit Participation
Description:
Minnesota Statute 123.33 amended in 1973 governs compensation for school board members. The basic components of the law are:
Members and officers of the board shall receive such compensation as may be fixed by the board. The board must vote the compensation annually (usually at the Organizational Meeting) as it is not automatic. Different or the same salaries may be set for the chairperson, clerk, treasurer and the other members of the board.
Mileage and expenses may be paid in addition to compensation. It is permissible for board members to participate in the district's fringe benefit insurance, namely, medical-hospital, life, and dental insurance at their own expense. It is the responsibility of the individual board members to make application for participation and to make the arrangements for the payment of the premiums therein required. 2020 Board Compensation: $4250.00 |
