Lakes Area Youth Assistance (LAYA) is a prevention program within the Oakland County Circuit Court. Youth Assistance has been in Walled Lake since 1960. Their mission statement is to strengthen youth and families and to prevent and reduce incidents of juvenile delinquency, neglect, and abuse through volunteer involvement. Mrs. Stacy Pasini, LAYA Caseworker, will present an update on their programs and services. |

11.a. AP U.S. History, High School Textbook, The American Pageant, 17th Edition, Wadsworth Cengage Learning, 2020, $70,460.50 - General Fund
To align with current AP standards and guidelines, a committee met to determine a new textbook for AP U.S. History, as the current textbook is from 2013 and is no longer in compliance. After meeting several times and reviewing several textbook options, the committee recommends purchasing The American Pageant, 17th Edition, Wadsworth Cengage Learning, 2020, in the amount of $70,460.50, which includes textbooks and a 6-year digital license. |

11.b. Honors Chemistry, High School Textbook, Living By Chemistry, 4th Edition, Bedford Freeman & Worth, 2026, $49,386.96 - General Fund
To better align with current standards and guidelines, a committee met to determine a new textbook for Honors Chemistry classes, as the current textbook, Living by Chemistry, is from 2015. After meeting and reviewing several textbook options, the committee recommends purchasing Living by Chemistry, the 2026 edition, in the amount of $49,386.96 from the General Fund. |

11.c. Middle School Math Curriculum, 8th Grade, teacher guides, professional development and online support, Anderson, G, et al., CPM: Inspiring Connections, CPM Educational Program (2024), $164,500.00 – General Fund
Our middle school teams conducted a pilot and review process for a new middle school mathematics program in the Spring of 2024. The Board previously approved the adoption of the resource, as well as the purchase of materials needed for 6th and 7th grade implementation. Administration now recommends purchasing the materials for 8th grade implementation during the 2026-27 school year. The purchase totals $164,500.00 from the General Fund. |

11.d. Instructional Resource, EL Education, Imagine Learning, $1,079,256.00 - 35m Grant Funds
With the passing of PA146 Dyslexia Legislation, the State released a list of approved curriculum from which districts must select. After a comprehensive review of the approved resources, Administration recommends purchasing EL Education from Imagine Learning, as this resource not only complies with the legislation, it also meets the needs of our learners. This purchase, totaling $1,079,256.00, would be fully funded by 35m grant funding. |

11.e. GoGuardian, A School Focused Web Filtering and Classroom Management Solution, $55,180.00 - 31aa Grant Funds
Administration recommends the purchase of GoGuardian Admin and GoGuardian Teacher to strengthen digital classroom management, student safety, and instructional visibility across the District. GoGuardian will help monitor academic performance, assist teachers in addressing behavioral issues, as well as include a parent portal that will extend oversight to the home environment. This investment, totaling $55,180.00 from 31aa Grant Funds, will support safer digital learning both at school and at home and aligns with the District's commitment to responsible technology use. |

11.f. Communications Platform Solution, ParentSquare, $29,118.38 - 31aa Grant Funds
Administration recommends an agreement with ParentSquare to serve as the District's unified communications platform beginning with the 2026-27 school year. ParentSquare was identified as the preferred partner based on functionality, implemtation support, and overall value. The cost, not to exceed $29,118.38, includes a one-time onboarding fee, subscription, and REMC discount, and will be funded by 31aa grant funds. |

Quotes were received for the 2024 Bond Program Furnishings Package, Phase 1 - Geisler ESC, Phase 1 Furnishings, from multiple furniture contractors. Administration recommends the procurement of the furnishings package totaling $926,962.19 from 2024 Bond funds, as presented. |

12.b. Lu System Installation, Districtwide, $143,690.00 - 2024 Bond Funds
Interactive Lu Systems were previously purchased for the elementary buildings, the Early Childhood Center, and the Geisler Educational Services Center. Administration is now recommending to approve the installation totaling $143,690.00 from 2024 Bond funds. |

12.c. Movable Wall Replacement, Hickory Woods Elementary, $86,259.99 - 2019 Bond Funds
The movable wall at Hickory Woods Elementary School is no longer operating properly. Administration recommends replacing the wall for a total cost of $86,259.99 from 2019 Bond funds. |

12.d. AV Package, Geisler Educational Services Center, $360,559.00 - 2024 Bond Funds
Administration is recommending the approval of the first round of technology for the Geisler Educational Services Center totaling $360,559.00 from 2024 Bond funds. |

13. RESOLUTION: OAKLAND INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL DISTRICT (OISD) BUDGET
The Michigan School Code requires the ISD budget to be presented to the board of each of the constituent districts for review. In addition, each constituent Board of Education, not later than June 1 of each year, shall review the proposed ISD budget and adopt a board resolution to support or disapprove the proposed budget. The Assistant Superintendent of Business Services has reviewed the proposed 2026-27 Oakland Intermediate School District’s budget and, based on the information presented and review of the materials provided, supports the budget. |

16. PROCLAMATION: EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION WEEK
Each year in early May, we pause to honor the educational team that serves the students of the Walled Lake Consolidated School District. Since quality education is a team effort, we honor our employees in all job classifications together during the same week. The week of May 4-8, 2026, has been designated Walled Lake Schools’ Employee Recognition Week. The Board expresses appreciation to all of our outstanding employees. |

17. DISCUSSION: OAKLAND SCHOOLS BOARD OF EDUCATION ELECTION
Oakland Schools Board of Education members are elected by an electoral body composed of one person designated by the board of each constituent school district. The Revised School Code prescribes that each constituent school district board must designate a representative to this electoral body by adopting a resolution. |
