The audience area of the boardroom will be limited for the meeting, as the Governing Board is following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) guidelines and limiting the amount of people present in the room to ten (10). This number represents the Board members and staff who will be attending in person for the meeting. One or more members of the Board may participate telephonically. If the Governing Board room reaches a capacity beyond what is currently being recommended by Government agencies, the District may offer live streaming of the meeting in other rooms to abide by those recommendations. VII. CALL TO THE PUBLIC:
Description:
Requests to speak to the Governing Board pursuant to A.R.S. 38-431.02.H - The Board may make an open call to the public during a public meeting, subject to reasonable time, place, and manner restrictions, to allow individuals to address the public body on any issue within the jurisdiction of the public body. Members of the public will be limited to three minutes each. However, if the number of individuals who have requested to speak exceeds twenty people, the Board President may limit comments to two minutes each. At the conclusion of an open call to the public, individual board members may respond to criticism made by those who have addressed the Board, may ask staff to review a matter, or may ask that a matter be put on the future agenda. Members of the Board shall not discuss or take legal action on matters raised during an open call to the public unless the matters are properly noticed for discussion and legal action.
