Motion to adopt Tax Rate Resolution I move that the property tax rate be increased by the adoption of a tax rate per hundred dollars valuation of $1.17 for Maintenance and Operations (M&O), of $0.332067 for Interest and Sinking (I&S), for a total rate of $1.502067, which is effectively a 14.66 percent increase in the tax rate, and furthermore, that if a majority of voters approve the $1.502067 total tax rate in a tax ratification election, in order to reduce the I&S tax rate by $0.13, that the property tax rate be increased by the adoption of a tax rate of $1.17 for Maintenance and Operations, of $0.202067 for Interest and Sinking, for a total rate of $1.372067, which is effectively a 4.74 percent increase in the tax rate. THIS TAX RATE WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR'S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 12.45 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $130.
