6.1. Advanced Placement (AP) Recognition

Rationale:
The College Board's Advanced Placement (AP) program enables willing and academically prepared students to pursue college-level courses while in high school. Students who are enrolled in AP courses at GISH are encouraged to complete an AP exam for each class. AP exams are scored on a scale of 1 to 5. Mrs. Gannon and Dr. Palmer will recognize students who scored a 4 or 5 on one or more AP exams taken during the spring of 2018. She will also honor students who have earned an AP Scholar Award in 2019. These awards take into account tests taken not only this past school year, but in years past.

The most important part of ensuring that young students can fulfill the potential of the bright futures is providing our children with a rigorous and well-rounded education. Principals are a vital part of our children's education as they set the academic tone for their schools by working collaboratively with teachers to build high academic standards, set performance goals, and utilize best practices for achieving those goals. Please help us celebrate and recognize our GIPS principals and the roles they plan in ensuring every child has access to a high-quality education in a safe, supportive environment. |

7.2. JAG - MOU

Rationale:
Mr. Phillips will present the MOU agreement to implement the Jobs for America's Graduates program. The primary goals of the program are: a 90% graduation/GED rate; an 80% overall success rate at the end of twelve (12) months after graduation, with participants either employed in a job leading to a career, in the military, or enrolled in a postsecondary education or training, or a combination of work and postsecondary education; 60% of graduates are employed; 60% of employed graduates are in full-time jobs leading to careers; and 80% of the graduates are employed full-time and/or are combining work and school.

The Grand Island Education Association continues to represent the bargaining unit covered by the 2019-20 Master Agreement and is recognized as the exclusive bargaining agent for negotiations for the 2020-21 contract year.
