3.A. Consider/Approve the Senate Bill 12 and Parent Rights Resolution
Description:
Senate Bill 12, enacted by the 89th Texas Legislature, prescribes requirements and prohibitions concerning parental rights in public education. The statute addresses matters including classroom instruction, diversity, equity, and inclusion duties, student social transitioning, and student clubs. Adoption of the resolution is required to formally establish the District’s compliance framework and to enable submission of the mandated certification of implementation to the Texas Education Agency.
It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the resolution as presented.
