Administrative Recommendation: that (1) Zachary Bush, (2) Heather Greenwood and (3) Aaron Poston be released from their contracts effective May 22, 2025.
 

Administrative Recommendation: that (1) Ashley Smith be elected to the certified staff for the 2025-26 school year effective July 1, 2025 subject to her release from any contractual agreements with other school districts and that (2) Natasha Barker, (3) Levita Guidry, (4) Stephanie Hansen, (5) Daniel Hernandez, (6) Rudy Jensen, (7) Carinsa Kuehl, (8) Brett Matthies, (9) Kelsy Mulligan, (10) Garrett Peterson, (11) Amy Quantrille, (12) Lindsay Rosenthal and (13) Erika Schroeder be elected to the certified staff for the 2025-26 school year effective August 1, 2025 subject to their release from any contractual agreements with other school districts.
 

Administrative Recommendation: that the following addendum to the contract between Brett Matthies and the Bellevue Board of Education dated June 9, 2025 shall be entered into with the following qualification(s) or additions: Successful completion of the appropriate Praxis Content Test as identified and determined by the Nebraska Department of Education.
 

Tonight, the administration will ask the Board to approve the bid from Snider Construction Co. in the amount of $91,350.00 for the renovation of the locker rooms at the Lied Activity Center.
 

Bellevue West competed in the 2025 State FBLA Leadership Conference in April. Individual/Team results are listed below. The National Leadership Conference will be held in Anaheim from June 27 - July 3, 2025.

Congratulations to Abi Schmidt from Bellevue West, she has been named to the 2nd team All-State Academic Team. Also, congratulations to Bellevue West students Ben Heckens, Justin Ramming, Lina Foss and Zoey Hladky for receiving Honorable Mention.
 

Congratulations to the following Bellevue West students who earned the Nebraska Department of Education's Seal of Biliteracy which proves that they have scored as "proficient" in reading, writing, listening, and speaking in Spanish (as well as English). The recipients receive an official seal on their official transcript and diploma, as well as a medallion for graduation.

After placing first in feature writing in the Nebraska Press Women contest, Bellevue East junior Brianna Yang advanced to the National Federation of Press Women contest, and placed 3rd in the nation for feature writing.
 

Our BPS middle school students competed in the BPS Middle School Quizmasters Cup hosted at Lewis & Clark in May. This event shines a spotlight on academic excellence, teamwork, and critical thinking.

After three competitive rounds with a bracket of 8 teams, it all came down to an exciting final between Lewis & Clark Team #2 and Mission Team #1. Congratulations to the champions, Lewis & Clark Team #2.

Bellevue East students spent their morning volunteering as moderators and scorekeepers - their leadership really helped make the event a success. During lunch, middle school students also heard from a panel of high school students offering advice, encouragement, and inspiration.
 

BPS had 11 aviation students from our inaugural class schedule their FAA testing and passed. As of May 29th, the world has 8 new FAA certificated commercial drone pilots and 3 new aspiring pilots who have passed the first of 3 major tests on their way to a pilot license. Congratulations to the students and aviation instructor Bob Condrey.
 

Congratulations to Bellevue East AFJROTC (NE-021) on being awarded the Distinguished Unit Award with merit for 2025. An amazing achievement - earned through hard work, dedication, headquarters inspection, community service and excellence by all the student cadets.
