7.a. Policy 6.409 Reporting Child Abuse - Waiver of Rules/Adopt on 1st Reading
Rationale:
The General Assembly made significant changes to several statutes that govern child abuse reporting requirements. Two of the most notable changes are: (1) the requirement to have one employee designated as the Child Abuse Coordinator at each school; and (2) the prohibition against notifying parents/guardians of suspected child abuse that occurs on school property. We have revised our model policy to align with the new law. This policy, as recommended by TSBA, will replace our current Policy 6.409 Child Abuse and Neglect.

7.c. Proposal to Reimburse Bus Drivers Employed by Sullivan County for DOT Physical
Rationale:
The current rate for a DOT (Department of Transportation) Medical Exam is $75.00. Drivers are required to have a new physical every 12 months. Sullivan County employs 22 Full-Time drivers and currently 1 Substitute driver. $1,725.00 for current employees plus any additional Substitute Drivers hired. |
7.d. Proposal to Increase Substitute Bus Driver Pay
Rationale:
Daily rate of $55.00 and $68.64 are based on a 6 hour day. ($9.17 hour to $11.44 hour) Increase aligns Substitute Driver pay to Full-Time driver pay with 0-3 years experience. |
7.e. Rights and Responsibilities Handbook Amendment
Rationale:
The attached Privacy Release form needs to be added to the Student's R&R Handbook. See attached.
