Crete High Band
Rationale:
In a year where many band programs across the state have experienced reduced enrollment, the band program in CPS has remained vibrant and successful. The high school band grew from 124 students to 154, the largest in the school’s history, and 6 - 12 enrollment has jumped up to 385 students this year. The support that the band program has received at the building and district level, though funding and continuation of team-teaching, has been a big factor in the growth and stability you see today.
Over the past few years, the high school marching band has received numerous awards and accolades through the hard work and dedication of our students. Given the latest challenges with scheduling and rehearsal area due to our growth, we are extremely proud that our students have adapted and overcome these challenges and still maintained their level of performance.
