X.A. Approval for Out-of-State Travel
Description:
X.A.1 This request is for Paula Finfrock, Indigenous Curriculum Consultant, to attend the 2026 NIEA Convention and Trade Show, in Buffalo, NY, 10/6-10/10/26, in an amount not to exceed $3,500 with costs covered by the Native American Heritage Fund Grant.
X.A.2 Additional request for Sabrina Neveu and Jaquline Lawless, Early Childhood Parent Educators, to attend the 2026 Parents as Teachers International Conference in Portland, OR, 10/5-10/8/26 in an amount not to exceed $7,200. Approval of this request is contingent upon receipt of allocation from MiLEAP Section 32p(4) funding, which will be used to support the expenses associated with conference attendance. X.A.3 Additional request for Lindsay Brindley, Curriculum Consultant/Instructional Coach, to attend the 2026 Convening of the Research Partnership for Professional Learning (RPPL) in Philadelphia, PA, 10/21-10/22/26 in an amount not to exceed $734 with costs covered by RPPL and Systems Improvement Conference Budget. |

Description:
Summer Smith, Instructional Aide, has requested a leave of absence from September 8, 2026 to November 6, 2026 (unpaid September 21-November 6).

X.C. Authorization for Superintendent to Accept Bids and Award Contract
Description:
Our building plans for the new storage facility at the Learning Center were finally approved by the State of Michigan at the end of August. Under State Law, we are required to post the Request for Proposal (RFP) on the State website for a minimum of 14 days. Due to the timing, we have the bid opening this Friday, September 11. We are working with U.P. Engineers & Architects, Inc on the project. |
